McKeesport Art Group is a social and networking organization for all visual artists who work in any media—paint, ink, pencil, clay, wood, fabric, photography—at any skill level. We meet at 1:00 p.m. on the third Monday of the month in February, March, April, October and November, and at 6:30 p.m. in June, July, August and September at the Jacob Woll Pavilion in Renziehausen Park. (Note: Meetings may be canceled, or meeting dates may be changed due to the weather, or if the Pavilion is reserved for another event. Notice of such changes are normally posted on the McKeesport Art Group’s Facebook page.)
You do not need to be a resident of McKeesport or a professional artist to join—you just have to like art!
The group was founded in 1958 with help from one of McKeesport’s favorite artists, the late Jeff Madden, former art director of the G.C. Murphy Co., who became famous for his paintings depicting McKeesport life in the 1950s through the ’70s.
Not all of our members are painters. Our members work with cameras, pen-and-ink and sewing machines.
